Reviewer Responsibilities
Thorough Evaluation
Assess assigned manuscripts objectively and comprehensively. Reviewers are expected to submit reports within **4 to 6 weeks** of assignment.
Constructive Feedback
Provide detailed, actionable comments, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement to support author development.
Ethical Oversight
Identify and report potential ethical issues (e.g. plagiarism, data falsification) or conflicts of interest. Maintain strict confidentiality.
Professionalism
Respond promptly to the editorial team, maintaining confidentiality and professional courtesy throughout the process.
Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on these key standards:
- Originality and Significance: Does the work offer novel insights or findings that advance its field significantly?
- Methodology: Is the research approach sound, appropriate, and well-justified, with clear descriptions of data collection and analysis?
- Results and Discussion: Are results presented accurately and interpreted appropriately, grounded in existing literature?
- Writing Quality: Is the manuscript well-structured, concise, and grammatically correct in its chosen language (Bharatiya languages or English)?
- Ethical Considerations: Does the research comply with ethical principles (e.g. informed consent, proper attribution)?
Double-Blind Peer-Review Process
Khoinchha employs a double-blind peer-review system to ensure impartiality. Author and reviewer identities remain concealed from each other throughout.
- Assignment: The editorial team assigns manuscripts based on reviewer expertise, avoiding conflicts of interest.
- Notification: Reviewers receive an email with access instructions and a review form, typically within 1–2 weeks of submission.
- Evaluation Period: Reviewers complete their review within 4–6 weeks, submitting recommendations: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject.
- Editorial Decision: The editor synthesizes feedback from 2–3 reviewers to make a final decision, typically within 16–20 weeks (up to 24 weeks total).

Reviewers completing one or more reviews receive a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of their dedication.
